Pokdepinion: Now it’s really up to the publishers to go ahead with this plan – here’s hoping. To me, Dead Space feels similar to Resident Evil 4-which I mean as a complement. This in turn should put pressure on publishers to take extra care with their game quality to earn gamers’ hard-earned money. No activation or online connection required to play. This should be good news for gamers – the first 90 minutes should be enough for most players to identify any technical issues (with how oddly prevalent PC port fiascos has become lately) or unsatisfactory aspects of the game before they go ahead with the purchase. As far as demos go, Ubisoft provides a more complete roster of games with many of its recent titles having demo versions to try out, while most other publishers do away with it many years ago, or just never had one to begin with. For the remaining PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S, the game can be pre-ordered for 69.99. It’s also unclear if this may end up featured in large number of titles, or only a select few publishers will go ahead with this plan. The price of the standard version is 59.99 and is available for the PC through Origin or Steam. Valve hasn’t said anything so far regarding the new free trial scheme, as this was only first spotted by Kotaku with only a single title – Dead Space remake – supporting the feature.
